15 December 2011 - New Sentencing Announced for Dangerous Dog Owners!
The BBC today reported, "Judges have published the first proposed sentencing guidelines for people convicted for dangerous dogs offences". The maximum sentence is now 2 years in prison. The issue of dangerous dogs is hugely contencious. We are convinced that the owners are the problem, and are saddened that people can see dogs as a weapon or instrument of fear. We love all of 'our' and they love us back. We never have fights and all the dogs get on, if only all owners were as nice as our clients, then there would be no dangerous dog issue at all! Apparently, the dog had observed his owner for 2 years and learned how to drive! A very amusing story, although it's seems a bit of a tall story! We can't imagine any of our dogs taking over from their Barnes dog walkers and taking our dog walking vans for a drive around Barnes! This campaign has sparked strong resistance from dog owners, vets and the dog community in the UK. Bruce's Dog Walking is strongly against this idea, "all of our dogs are well behaved and don't have it in them to hurt another dog. It would be sad to see them punished for the wrong doing of a few irresonsible owners". The team at Bruce's Dog Walking often walk their own dogs in Richmond Park, Clapham Common and Wandsworth Common. It would be sad if this could not continue!
